Steph, you are such a blessing to our family and many others!  We love you so much and are thankful to God for your loving, serving spirit.  Have a wonderful day today and may God bless you this year as you grow closer to Him!

A big “Thank you!” to those who wished me a happy birthday on Saturday!  :)   It was a simply wonderful day!  Here’s a recap with some photos…

I awoke in a cheerful mood around 8 am, partly because my parents came in to our bedroom singing “Happy Birthday to You.”  :)   When I walked into the dining room for breakfast, I found a huge balloon, peanut m&m’s, and a dozen roses on the table just for me!  Stephanie made some really yummy chocolate chip waffles for us.  Wasn’t that sweet?  :)

At noon, we had Ladybug’s soccer game.  It was quite cold outside…

After the soccer game, we went to our favorite pizza place for lunch.  They have the best whole wheat vegetable pizza, garlic rolls, and caesar salad!

After lunch was another soccer game (for Picasso) and then a fellowship for ATI families at our house.  We talked, ate dinner, and played games like Four on the Couch, Catchphrase, Whoonu, and One to One-Hundred.

Feminine Friday – Hairstyle Tutorial

For Feminine Friday today, I would like to share with you a hairstyle tutorial.  One of our favorite ways to express our femininity and love of girly things is through our hairstyles.  We each have long hair, as you know, and that is one of the easiest ways to show that you are a girl.  That’s not to say that there is anything wrong with short hair, though.  It can go both ways as I have seen short hairstyles that still look feminine.  Just as long as you look like and are glad to be a young lady!  :)

Have you ever thanked God for hair?  Hair is just one of the many blessings God has given to us as girls.  Hair adds so much to a person’s countenance as a whole and provides another aspect of fun to a girl’s life, don’t you think so?  I have to remember to be grateful that I have hair on my head in the first place regardless of how uncooperative with me it may be.  :)

Now for the tutorial. This hairstyle is something like the Regency updo at In Timely Fashion. It works best with curly or wavy hair.

Twist up hair and secure with clips.

Take small sections of hair and wrap around your fingers to form a small loop. Secure one side of the loop down with clip.

Continue until all the hair is up in little loops, like so:

In the picture below, I added some bobby pins with beaded flowers and butterflies on them for a touch of cuteness.

And here’s our lovely model, Stephanie.  :)

I figured out that the next time his birthday will be on a Presidential election day will be in 2036, when he’s 34-years-old. :)
