How Deep the Father’s Love
April 10, 2009 at 3:52 pm | In Music, S's Posts | 2 CommentsWe love this song by Stuart Townend. It paints the picture of Christ’s sacrifice for us so beautifully.

How deep the Father’s love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory
Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocing voice,
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that helf Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished
I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast inJesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

What a wonderful time we had at the Wissmann family concert last night! Such sweet praise and fellowship.

Desiree (left), the one who first introduced us to the Wissmanns’ music! Many thanks

The little ones enjoyed playing together

Rachel and I are both the oldest in our families, and both born on January 31st!

Dad and Mr. Wissmann

Sadly, this is a little blurry, but at least it captures the moment.
We so enjoyed meeting and visiting with the Wissmanns and hearing more of their wonderful music.

Too much music?
January 18, 2008 at 2:17 pm | In Events, Family, K's Posts, Music | 4 CommentsThis week we have become interested in folk dancing and some ballroom dancing (specifically the Virginia Reel, Lindler, Korubushka, Sicilian Tarantella, and Circassian Circle). We’ve watched videos of the dances online and read instructions on various sites. It has been a lot of fun practicing these dances and we have enjoyed much laughter as a result. ☺
One such occasion was on Wednesday when we had been practicing a lot more than usual. We have been using this particular song as a background for the Virginia Reel as well as the Circassian Circle as it has the correct beat for both of those dances. Apparently, this song is not appropriate for little children as I overheard our 5-year-old brother say, “Mommy, the music is making my stomach hurt.”
We’ve also learned that having so many siblings has it’s advantages as we’ve been able to do the large group dances with our 3+ sets of partners. ☺
