During the month of January, Stephanie and I participated in a Scripture memory challenge over at LivingtheJourney.com, a blog for Journey to the Heart alumni. The challenge was to memorize the 26 verses of II Timothy 2 in 26 days. A challenge it was, but by God’s grace, we completed it! The experience was such a blessing and encouragement that we desired to host a similar event right here.
Starting on March 1st, we will work on memorizing one verse of Colossians 3 (KJV) each day with the goal of being able to quote the whole chapter from memory on March 25th. Each day, we will have a short commentary of sorts from one of us or a guest blogger sharing insights God has revealed and practical ways we can apply the verse to our lives.
Scripture memory and meditation should hold large importance in our hearts as children of God. The blessings for those who delight in God’s Word are unfathomable.
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” (Psam 1:1-3)
So, I hope you will join us on March 1st! My goal in letting you all know ahead of time is that you will spread the word and let others know about it so we can have maximum encouragement and glory to the Lord! Check back tomorrow and we’ll have some buttons ready that you can post on your blog.

This sounds really cool…I will most definitely be participating!
This is really interesting! I will be part of this.
Can’t wait to see those buttons. I’ll definetly be putting them on my blog!

Count me in to memorize the scripture too. Thanks.
I would like to do this! sure!
This is a great idea! My pastor at church has been preaching from Colossians for the past few months and we’re in chapter 3 right now!
