Update
February 27, 2008 at 4:28 pm | In Family, K's Posts, Photos | 1 CommentWe’ve been overwhelmed with all of the people who’ve been praying for S. Thank you so much! God has really taken care of him.
Like I said in the last post, my dad spent the night and day with S at the hospital. The rest of us went over there to visit yesterday around lunchtime. He was still in pain and couldn’t keep anything (including water) down. The doctor was talking about keeping him a second night, but later in the afternoon, he was finally able to eat, so he came home at about 7:30 pm. We missed having him at home so much! I had to dispose of a live roach because he wasn’t here to do it. (Yuck!) Now I appreciate all that he does around here! ☺
Of course, we had to take pictures… here are a couple…

S is doing well at home now. He is still having some pain when he walks around, but he’ll be able to go back to normal activity as soon as he feels up to it.
The Excitement Never Ends
February 26, 2008 at 10:56 am | In Events, Family, K's Posts | 2 CommentsWell, our 11-year-old brother, S, had his appendix taken out last night. He was complaining of pain in his stomach yesterday, so Mom took him to the doctor. He was throwing up because it hurt him so much. The doctor advised that she take him to the hospital so the surgeons could check it out. They did an ultrasound and CAT scan and saw that there was some fluid around the appendix which was a sign that it could have ruptured. So, they decided to go ahead and take it out. That was at 11:45 last night. After he was out of the OR, the surgeon said that the appendix was bigger than normal, but that it hadn’t ruptured. So, the fluid that was there is still a mystery. My dad spent the night at the hospital with S, and he was in a good bit of pain. When my dad called this morning, S was sleeping. They say he might be coming home today if everything is okay. Thanks for your prayers.
Soccer and a Sweetie
February 24, 2008 at 7:03 pm | In Baby C, Family, Photos, S's Posts | 1 CommentSorry we’ve been missing in action for a while! Time flies, and I just realized we haven’t posted in a week.
Our brother, S, and sister, C, have been enjoying this year’s soccer season. They’ve had five games so far. Both of their teams have won most of them. Some of you might be thinking “Wait a minute, soccer in the winter?” Well, the purpose of it was so the players would be nice and cool. But yesterday the temperature turned out to be in the 80’s. Anyway, here are a couple photos of them in action:

And here are a couple photos of the sweetie, on her five-month birthday. It’s fun playing with her, trying to make her laugh. She just recently learned how, so she doesn’t do it that often. ☺

In honor of Valentine’s Day, I’m going to direct you to an old post I wrote on God’s love for us. If you haven’t read it already, check it out here.
I hope you all were reminded in some way today of God’s love for you. This morning, S and I went to the hospital where we volunteer, as usual. But, guess what! Where we sign in and sign out there was a great big stack of coupons! Hmm… I wonder Who put them there? ☺

February 11, 2008 at 10:16 am | In Photos, S's Posts | 1 CommentLast month we bought an Ergo carrier for baby C, and we’ve been enjoying playing with it. ☺ At first she didn’t like it, but she’s grown to enjoy it. She likes looking up at us, and she usually falls asleep in it. We’ve also carried M and M in it; they think it’s fun. ☺ You can wear it on the side, front, or back. Here’s a photo of C and me – she was sleeping when we took it.
Current Favorites
February 8, 2008 at 2:53 pm | In Books, K's Posts, Movies | 7 CommentsI thought it’d be fun for us all to share what our favorite books and movies are currently. I’ll start…
I’ve always had a hard time pinpointing my favorite book as there are so many good books out there and I’m constantly changing my mind. For the time being, my favorite book is The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio. Some of you may have noticed that it’s in our “books we’re reading” list over there on the right. It is a true story about a family with ten children who lived in the 1950’s. I am almost done reading it, and I can’t tell you how many times it has made me laugh out loud! I find myself sharing bits of it with whoever happens to be in the area just because it is so funny.
As far as movies go, I keep coming back to the Anne of Green Gables trilogy. We saw them last summer for the first time and then caught them again on television recently. I had forgotten how much I had enjoyed them the first time. They are wholesome, heartwarming, and humorous. Megan Follows plays the part of Anne Shirley beautifully. If you have not seen these movies, you are really missing out!
Now it’s your turn! What are your favorite books and movies?

Free Coldstone
February 7, 2008 at 4:40 pm | In Family, Photos, S's Posts | 1 CommentIn case you haven’t heard already… Coldstone Creamery gives you a coupon for free ice cream on your birthday. Just sign up for their Birthday Club. We claimed our birthday ice cream the other day. My choice of flavor was “All Lovin’ No Oven.” ☺ Here’s a photo of us there… yum!
The other K had a Coldstone gift card, so she went with us too. Here’s she is, with her ice cream:
Later she commented, ”Wow, it costed just $6.99 for my ice cream. That’s a good deal!” That’s why we only go after our birthdays… Because of all the “good deals.” ☺
